Saturday Morning a double brick workout was planned. I feel it went very well but the most challenging part of it was the mental aspect. I felt this workout really trained my mind the most. I am starting to feel in shape for the long distance of the ironman and after this weekend I feel my mind is well on its way to handle the ironman hawaii that lay ahead. Saturday Frank and I headed out on a Hilly 1.5 hour ride and the last 20 mins was a time trail EFFORT.
It was quite hilly so I tried not to look at my speed, but I felt like I pushed the watts which was key. We got off the bike and ran for 40 mins only to jump right back on the bike for yet another 1.5 hour ride (same course but reversed the loop) same 20 min time trial end and then another 40 min run off the bike. I felt good physically but mentally it was challenging and I am glad I got that workout under my belt. A good long workout is just what I needed.
